A Question of Inspiration...

When submitting work to the group, if a piece is inspired by the work of Wilde but the actual subject of the piece is not of any particular story, poem, or essay of his then those pieces would fall under Wilde Related and not under the folders for the inspiration in question. This just makes it easier to navigate and lifts confusion for anyone just getting into Wilde's work. If it would be easier for there to be a folder specifically for Wilde inspired original works, voice your opinion here and I'll determine if there's enough interest to open one up.

besuchte ich seinen Wahrsager.
Er las mir aus der Hand,
wie's um meine Zukunft stand.
Er sagte, er sehe Verderben –

Entsetzt zog ich meine Hand zurück,
der Kerl, der war doch verrückt!
Tod, Mord und das Ende der Welt –
Der Gauner wollt' doch nur sein Geld!
Ich stand auf und wandte mich zum Gehen,
auf Nimmerwiedersehen!

Doch der Gedanke ließ mich nicht mehr los,
es war wirklich rigoros!

Father's DayFather's Day

It was a sunny Sunday in June, a day like any other day, in many ways. Birds were chirping, and a light wind was blowing, However- this was not just any Sunday in June. It was Father's day- and for once, the Hisory 101 crew had nothing to do. There was no crisis to solve, nothing to worry about- and this was an excuse for everyone to enjoy themselves, have fun, and relax.

In honor of the lovely day, Team America had decided to throw a garden party- and invite the whole crew along. It was a lovely scene, and the garden was beautifully decorated, as it always seemed to be. Someone had managed to restrain Tesla to only a few strFather's Day by ~katelynna10000

One misfortune follows another follows another, and one by one the bodies are strewn across the graveyard like the final scene of a Shakespearean tragedy.  As the curtain falls, I am the only man left standing.

It does no good in moments like these to admit to our earthly passions, to repent or to plea or to fall before the cross and beg your Good Lord to guide you through.

All one can do is stand... and watch.

The whispers outside flutter through the windows as moths drawn to a flame, the rustle of the story in the papers in their hands.  They talk of sin and murder, a hideous body with Dorian's rings, a leather suitcAnd So We Die by ~Mandolin77
